On the second day of resumption of flight operations, more than 100 flights have been cancelled inconveniencing passengers in a big way. The airport handled over 2,700 passengers across 40 flights arrived and departed and this will continue upto 1st of June 2020 as informed by the officials in the Airport Authority of India. The number of flight operations will increase after 1st June.
The movement at the airport will be poor till such time this level of flights are operated. AAI authorities receive a lot of calls from passengers about cancellation and confirmed flights. The anxiety to return home is very evident for the passengers held up in various other places.
Thermal screening is done at the airport for incoming and outgoing passengers. The movement of people is closely watched by officials to ensure physical distancing as per the government norms.
The difficulty in getting e passes through portals is being sorted out as per the AAI officials.
Let us hope for the regular flight operations to-and-fro very soon.
