In a well developed move, the HR & CE Department is planning to reopen the temples in Tamil Nadu with necessary e-passes to devotees, with effect from 1st June 2020. This will also ensure that the respective temple authorities decide on issue e-passes on daily basis, control visitors, maintain physical distancing and also to ensure the safety of devotees as well as temple priests. More than 40,000 temples have, so far, performed the needed poojas with restricted staff memers only in view of the controlling measures for the spread of coronavirus in the past two months.
Many familiar temples such as Kapaleeswarar temple in Mylapore, Chennai have been webcasting their poojas that are being performed for the delight of devotees.
Let us sincerely hope that the situation improves in the coming days so that normalcy is in place.
