NEW LOCKDOWN - STRICT IMPLEMENTATION - INDIA


The Union Government will announce lockdown 5.0 with serious implementation in particular reference to thirteen cities where cases are huge after testing for coronavirus.  Revised guidelines issued by the Home Ministry as informed by a senior government official. 

The Union Home Minister Mr Amit Shah met the Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi and reported to him the status after consultation with the Chief Ministers on extending the lockdown.  On a given single day, heavy cases of over 7000 new virus cases and more than 250 deaths have been reported thus the total number of cases went upto 1.73 lacs with deaths nearing 5000.

Considering relaxation, religious places will be opened but malls and restaurants will continue to be closed.  The lockdown first imposed on 24th March has been extended four times.  Running of metro trains is ruled out as the routes fall on containment areas. 

The Cabinet Secretary Mr Rajiv Gauba had a meeting with Municipal Commissioner and District Magistrates about the badly affected areas in Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi/New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Thane, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata/Howrah, Indore, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Chengalpattu and Tiruvallur.

We await to seriously towards the return of normalcy.
