The Senior Police Officers in Chennai have taken a very good initiative this summer. They have provided sunglasses for traffic police to prevent any damage to the eyes, which are a very vital human part.
They are exposed to heavy sunlight, that too in the month of May, and high pollution. Around seven hundred police in the Chennai West Zone Traffic have been covered in the Anna Nagar, Ambattur and Pulianthope stations. Traffic police are on the road throughout the day without looking at the time and also risking their lives. The masks they wear cover nose and mouth and not the eyes. Areas like Poonamallee, Avadi, Pattabiram are prone to dust due to bad road conditions. Reports of eye irritation in suburbs have come and hence safety glasses. The traffic police feel comfortable as if sunglasses are used and eyes are really safe.
For people of this work nature, the authorities concerned provide more and more welfare measures and make them comfortable in the work spot.
