T20 WORLD CUP - UNCERTAIN

Cricket Australia informed that there is a very high risk of this year's T20 world cup being postponed and looking at a huge loss of revenue as a consequence.

Mr Kevin Roberts, Chief Executive, Cricket Australia informed that schedule world cup in Australia in Oct-Nov this year is very uncertain.  The decision put off till 10th June and explore contingency plan for some more time.  There could be a revenue loss of 80 million Australian Dollars if the world cup is not happening.  If at all it takes place, it will happen behind closed doors keeping in mind the social distancing as per government norms.  However, test series against India in Austrialia would happen starting 3rd December this year.  The four test series may be played at a single venue as a precaution in restricting travelling to different venues.  The schedule likely to be changed depending the restrictions being imposed at that time.

Let us hope the COVID-19 pandemic end soon.
