The Hindu has consolidated its presence in the country by way of excellent growth in the fourth quarter of the 2019 with a total leadership growth of 6% amazingly. The Average Issue Readership has also grown up by 4% in the fourth quarter of 2019. The Hindu has added a whopping 4,61,000
readers globally which is more by 1,03,000 as to what The Times of India did in the third qurarter.
The Hindu has also proudly spells out that total readership is 46,70,000 in South India alone.The performance is mainly attributed to sustained leadership in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh,
Kerala and gains in Karnataka. The Hindu continues to be in the largest read of its English daily in
Tamil Nadu, both in total readership and average issue readership. There was a consistent growth in
Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The Hindu has grown by 10% in average index readership in
Karnataka which was not in the case of The Times of India and Deccan Herald.According to
Mr Navaneeth, Chief Executive Officer, The Hindu, there was overall growth in the readership in
all quarters. The Hindu thanks its readers from the bottom of the heart and the advertisers for their
continued and overwhelming support.
