USE OF SALIVA IN CRICKET MATCHES



The cricketer Anil Kumble who is the Chairman of ICC Committee has informed that the ban on use of saliva by the bowlers is only a temporary measure and that normalcy will return sooner or later once the spread of coronavirus is brought under control.  Anil Kumble led panel at the ICC has recommended ban of saliva to reduce the risk of infection.

ICC, recently, also suggested some guidelines for resuming the game, mentioning as interin measure, and in a few months or a year's time, normalcy would be back.  The ban on saliva brought mixed responses from bowlers.  The bowlers of opinion that it would come in the way of generating the swing.  Most of the bowlers have welcomed the move keeping in mind the health risk it poses.
