NAMAKKAL - GOES HI-TECH




A feather in the cap for the people living in Namakkal as a compressed biogas plant (CBG) has been inaugurated.  Besides, five CBG fuel stations have also been in place around the Namakkal area.  The biogas plant was inaugurated virtually by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and the Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas.

The plant was set up by a private professional in collaboration with Indian Oil Corporation and a German organisation.  It has the capacity to manufacture 15 tonnes of biogas on daily basis at an installed cost of Rs.25 crores.  The Namakkal people have a valid point to cherish and put efforts in advancement of their technology by upgrading automobile facility for commutation.  Apart from this, the economy plays a key role by way of using compressed biogas. 

It will not be out of place to mention that Tamil Nadu is one of the top most states in renewable energy and a reminder for many other states to follow suit.  All the efforts are imperative in implementation of clean energy projects for which an assurance given by the Tamil Nadu Government to the officials at the Centre by way of extending all kinds of support needed. 

The compressed  biogas being produced at the Namakkal plant will cater to innumerable people in the Salem-Namakkal areas.  This plant also has the capacity to cater to Industries by way of supplying green alternative fuel.
