TEMPLE KITCHENS - UNIQUE SERVICE



Kitchens of various temples in their purview have done humanitarian service by serving food to several lakhs of people who are in need from the initial stages of lockdown.  The people who do not have source of income during lockdown have welcomed the supply of a meal a day.  Many people including elders do not have work, running to hundreds, require food very badly.  The temples in Tiruttani and Sholinghur have given their big helping hands and provided foods to the needy.

As per information provided by the HR & CE department, the cooked food was supplied considering the request made by the revenue officials.   Such an humaniatarian service goes for all praise without hesitation.  The food packets ran to more than 40,000 and then reduced to nearly 25,000 due to the fact that people could engage themselves with some jobs during the relaxation of the lockdown.  
The temple authorities are confident of supply of foods whenever the need arises.

Some crores of rupees have been spent by the temple authorities by way of preparing mixed rices such as tamarind rice, lemon rice, sambar rice, etc.  This facilitates easy pack and supply to the needy.
