The close management and going through all the affected areas of coronavirus, containment zones and other areas by the police department and other health officials, enlightened to the Chief Minister, prompted for a serious restriction of movement in the city necessitated which could break the chain of COVID-19 pandemic. The valueable and true reasons prompted the Chief Minister to announce serious lockdown from 19th to 30th June 2020 for Chennai city and the surroundings.
According to the Chief Secretary K Shanmugam, the administration will work in a concrete way with serious focus on detecting the cases by way of new restrictions after a due consultation when a review meeting took place. Contact tracing, focused testing and managing quarantined areas are the key points in detecting cases which could bring down the spread of disease. The number of cases under the belt of Greater Chennai Corporation, Kancheepuram, Chingleput and Tiruvallur districts were on the increase due to dense population prevailing in the respective areas. The houses are attached to each other with no space literally in between is also a key factor.
The District Collectors located other than in Chennai putforth the increase in cases due to people arriving from Chennai tested positive. This goes without saying that the internal restriction rules were promptly put in place.
The intensified lockdown is a serious point of implementation after a meeting by the chief minister with medical experts and health officials and also cut the pace of spreading.
