Monitoring of containment zones, conducting medical camps in vulnerable places and other containment activities are order of the day in Maharashtra state. Despite huge efforts, cases rise, in various parts of the state with particular reference to the capital, alarmingly in thousands every day. The death toll also rises raising serious concerns and strong ways and means to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic. The lock down has been extended upto end July 2020 without compromises and no relaxations.
New guidelines issued by the Chief Secretary after extension announcement by the Chief Minister. Private offices can run with 10% strength, government offices with 15% strength, priority to work from home are the key factors in this aspect. Certain to prevail are wearing masks in public places, sanitising hands regularly, maintain social distance and avoid gathering. Specific restrictions are on direct vigil by Health and Police departments in Metropolitan city and other places like Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad, etc.
Travelling between districts and for long distance have been restricted except for essential services. State run buses are with 50% capacity. E-commerce activity for essential and non-essential will continue. A fervent appeal to the public by the Chief Minister is not to crowd places without reasons, stay indoors and venture out only for essentials.
