ROBOT NURSES IN KERALA



Many many forms available on the earth for service to the needy in various fields.  Humanitarian service, social services are to name a few.  But when a robot provides  during the COVID-19 pandemic it is nothing but an exemplary service created by an expert IT firm based in Tiruchirapally.  

A grama phanchayat acted with intelligence amidst challenging times deployed robotic nurses to provide service for a coronavirus treatment centre at Pathanamthitta.  The Panchayat President was meticulous and to ensure safety to health/frontline workers employed in the medical centre to control the threat of community transmission.  The panchayat tried new methods - Accredited Social Health Activist - ASHA for protection to a health worker who tested positive for the virus.  Four feet tall two robots are pressed into service, created through the IT company.  They can supply medicines and foods weighing upto 8 kgs to a room in the hospital.  Interactions have even been carried out by them at a distance of 15 kms.

The village, in the midst of talks, was the first to bag a National Award in Public Administration five years back and also ISO certification for their Primary Health Centre less than a year back.
