WHATSAPP BABY AT HUBBALLI

Giving birth to a baby poses an herculean task for any female and it could be a big sigh of relief when everything settle down for a cool.  As was seen in a movie, a student with his friends studying in a engineering college helped a woman give birth to a baby in a recreation club in the college.

Such a kind of true act has taken place on 26th July 2020 in Hangal, Haveli District in Karnataka.  Vasavi Fattepur developed labour pain in advance to the scheduled date, was expecting second baby.  Three of their neighbours  along with some more people went for her help when her husband gave an alert.  By the time these people reached the house, the baby was almost delivered.  One of the ladies immediately went back to her house, came back swiftly with masks and gloves took the baby out.  Simultaneously, ambulance call was given and the reply being it will take around 45 minutes to reach the spot as it was already on COVID-19 pandemic duty.  Many more ladies, by that time, turned up to the house for help.  A video call was made to a doctor for her advice.  The umbilical cord was cut with a new blade and precautions followed based on doctor's advice.  At last, the baby saved.

Dr Mantagi, who advised, is undergoing post graduate course in gynaecology and obstetrics at Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubballi.  She spelt out the situation during the video call, expressed confidence and advised everybody not to worry.  The procedure was explained clearly in cutting the umbilical cord upon tying both the ends.  The baby was covered in a warm cloth after cleaning and breast fed.  Later the mother and baby were taken to a hospital upon arrival of ambulance with the health workers.  One of the ladies who initially helped felt very happy on seeing mother and baby are safe.

What an humanitarian act by select ladies under the testing conditions when the COVID-19 pandemic rule the nation with severe and unbearable damages.
