The average doubling and growth rates are calculated considering COVID-19 cases of the past seven days. The coronavirus cases are doubled at a faster rate in Mumbai last week in comparison to previous week. The viral rates have gone up as per reports from the city civic body.
Mumbai city otherwise well known as financial capital recorded slowest doubling rate as 89 days and lowest growth rate as 0.79%. Two days ago, the doubling rate faster at 83 days and growth rate rose upto 0.84%. Yesterday the doubling rate slowed a little and growth rate decreased marginally. Faster doubling rate of 50 took place in areas like Pedder Road and Malabar Hill including Chembur (East) area. Mumbai recorded nearly 1.3 lakhs COVID-19 cases and deaths over 7,000.
Two months ago Mumbai recorded doubling rate of 28 days and average growth rate of 2.49%. On the last day of July, the doubling rate improved to 77 days and growth rate to 0.9%.
