NO CHARM - VINAYAKA CHATURTHI FESTIVAL

 








The presence of coronavirus in the country posing threat to everyone, continuous and serious warning by the Health Department to maintain social distancing, regular hand wash and use of mask while going out.  Under the circumstances, normal life thrown out of gear and people experiencing torrid time in the past four months.

The Tamilnadu Government categorically tight gripped and imposed restrictions of displaying Vinayaga idols in public places. The festival starts from 22nd August 2020.   As a result, the immersion of idols in water bodies, at a later date, by way of processions has also been banned.  The celebrations are only to take place at home by all concerned.  The State Government is bound to follow guidelines issued by the Home Ministry in the centre under the Disaster Management Act.  

The orders issued by the state government on the above is to ensure the welfare of the citizens is protected under the present pandemic situation.  It recalls the statement issued by the Madras High Court in this regard.

Our only hope and trust is to await eargerly for a vaccine to end the pandemic.
