RESUMING METRO RAIL SERVICES - WEST BENGAL

 



While the coronavirus is still persisting among the people in the country and recording of cases affected by it is also on the increase.  Under the circumstances, the West Bengal Government is of serious view to resume metro rail and local train services in a limited method but at the same time, every precautions in mind in maintaining the norms of physical distancing and health hygiene protocols.  The West Bengal government has written a letter to the Railway Board in this regard.

The needed logistics have also been requested by the state to the board in resuming the train operations.  The modalities and logistics are to be worked out to ensure smooth operations.  The West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamta Banerjee is in the affirmative and told that one-fourth of suburban train services and full Metro rail services can be allowed from 1st September 2020 by maintaining safety protocols and social distancing guidelines.

Having suffered without public train services in the past five months by the general public, this update will encourage every people to utilise services with safety norms under the ongoing tussle of coronavirus.
