THIRD IN THE WORLD - COVID-19 IN INDIA

 



India captures third place in death toll of coronavirus surpassing Mexico, the cumulative at 62,724 deaths which is 130 more than Mexico's record in the similar time.  More than 70,000 infections registered for a consecutive third day on Friday.  A single day world record arrived by registering 77,266 cases on Thursday as reported by the Health Ministry.

India achieving the capacity of carrying out 10 lakhs in a day recorded 9,01,338 cases in the past 24 hours.  There is every likelihood the cases will touch 4 lakhs mark while tests per million surged to 28,607.  The positive cases are identified quickly by way of aggressive testing, close contacts tracked quickly and isolated and ensuring timely and effective treatment.  Nearly 1,600 labs involved in carrying out the tests in addition to hospital infrastructure improving to three tier dedicated COVID-19 facilities with ICU bed and ventillators.  Besides, hospitals equipped with oxygen bed, doctor on call and isolation beds.

A graded and evolving strategy helps in managing over 1,700 hospitals, nearly 4,000 health centres and 11,689 care centres.  It includes 15.9 lakhs isolation beds, 2.17 lakhs oxygen-supported beds and 0.57 lacs ICU beds.

All these arrangements effectively used in controlling the spread of coronavirus and best treatment meted out to each and every patient.
