COVID-19 IN DELHI

 

Delhi is one of the city largely affected by the coronavirus disease and the health department is planning to carry out serological surveys as a third round in all 11 districts by 5th of September 2020.  Delhi saw spike in number of cases over the past ten days and over 29% of its population was exposed to the virus.  The survey is likely to cover approximately 17,000 people.

During last month, over 23% of the population have been affected by SARS-CoV2 and the positivity rate has declined from 30% to 7%.  Being the second highest number of cases, Delhi saw sharp decline of cases upon increased healthcare facilities.  While recovered cases were encouraging, 14,626 cases are active and 4,444 people have died due to coronavirus.  Delhi saw a single day hike of more than 2,000 cases on Sunday in a span of two months.

The Delhi government ruled by the Aam Aadmi Party is carrying out monthly survey  which will give the record of spread of virus.  One of the previous surveys has the antibodies to be highest who are under the age of 18 years.
