IN THE RIGHT PATH - COVID VACCINE DEVELOPMENT

Considering multi options to find out a solution by way of vaccine to end coronavirus pandemic, Aurobindo Pharma in India expressed confidence in development and the progress is in line with the plans afoot.  The manufacturing facility being set up for viral vaccines will be used to produce COVID-19 vaccine and other viral vaccines.  The development of vaccine is under US subsidiary Auto Vaccines wholly owned by Aurobindo Pharma Limited.  The SARS COV - 2 is based on various technical compositions with a view to have uniform platform.

Examination, analysis and preclinical test are needed based on which test license permission for manufacture of COVID-19 vaccine has been granted by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation.  Accordingly as per the view of the government, more than 30 vaccines for covid are in various stages of development.  

Aurobindo Pharma has been ably supported by the Department of Biotechnology in helping establishing of VSV vaccine manufacturing platform for the first time in India.  The Secretary of Department of Biotechnology emphasises the need to fight the present pandemic.  The serious relevance of vaccine has been focussed and encouragment of new product innovation.
