NEW LANDMARK - CORONAVIRUS TESTING

 


While testing capacity of each and every state in India records considerably high, the figure of the same as on yesterday amounts to a whopping 6.6 crore mark according to the health ministry statement.   At the same time, the daily testing figure has even touched a record 12 lakhs.   The test per million has risen to 48,028 as of today and the national cumulative positivity rate recorded at 8.52%.

India's tally today crossed 56 lakhs cases after a spike of over 80,000 new covid-19 cases infected was reported in the last 24 hours.  Side by side, the death toll rose to over 90,000 including new deaths of 1,085 nos registered.  India is the worst hit country globally after the United States where the death toll was as high as two lakhs.

In India total discharge read at closed to 46 lakhs with about 9.6 lakhs cases are active at present.  The fatality is considerably down with 1.59% whereas the recovery rate improved to more than 81%.  Maharashtra also is worst hit followed by Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh.

Single day testing in India is over 9.5 lakh samples and cumulative was upto 6.63 lakhs.  The efficacy of the covid-19 vaccine would not reach 100%.  But it could be treated as an effective vaccine against the virus based on a statement from the Director General of ICMR.
