ONE CRORE? - PASSENGERS FLOWN DOMESTICALLY

Ever since the coronavirus struck our country from March this year, the logistics such as train, bus, aircraft, etc. have experienced unprecedented difficulties due to the lockdown enforced by the Government of India to contain the spread of infection.

The domestic flights have started their operations from 25th of May to cater to the passengers stranded in many parts of the country and help them to reach their home/native in a safe and secured manner.  The passenger traffic has crossed over one crore by boarding 1.08 lakhs aircrafts across the country to reach their desired destinations.  According to the statistics upon scrutinising the movements, it is a matter of pride to note that the figures inching towards the pre-covid figures.  The stakeholders have been all praise upon achieving the milestone and the journey goes swiftly towards creating records.

While recording of cases continue to remain high in states like Maharashtra, Tamilnadu, Karnataka, etc., it would be advisable to relax restrictions already imposed and continue to have a serious check on the containment zones by way of screening, roadside camping, mobile testing procedures, etc..
