INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS BANNED

 

Several ways and means and measures taken by the government to curb the spread of coronavirus have not shown significant improvement in stopping the disease.  Cases continue to be booked for infection and various medical departments putting in tuff measures in treating the patients, as the pandemic did not get abated.   While this affects various activities, it is also binding of curbing of movement of international flights to various other countries from India.  As quoted by Directorate General of Civil Aviation, International flights to and from India stand banned till 30th November 2020.  Being the fourth time, Air India flights are banned by the government of Hong Kong.  However, select routes on case to case basis may be allowed to operate according to DGCA.

The cargo operations, specific flights to operate by the aviation regulator, repatriation flights, chartered flights and Vande Bharat Mission flights to continue to be operated.  The air bubble arrangements with other specific countries are also allowed to operate.  Apart from few countries such as US, UK, UAE, France, Germany where air bubble arrangements in place, the Indian Government is in talk with few more countries on similar lines so as to operate flights.  The air bubble arrangement will help between India and other countries with pre-set conditions towards regulating movement due to covid-19 pandemic.  International flights can be allowed to operate on select routes, case to case.

The suspension by the Indian government with regard to banning international flights came into effect on 23rd March and later limited domestic flights were allowed to operate from 25th May.
