WHAT A SPEED? - VACCINE DELIVERY

 



While the momentum has picked up for vaccination to fight against coronavirus infection, a driver in Barmer in Rajasthan, transporting vaccines to villages in the district bordering Pakistan for the last nineteen years.  Taking the challenge in the right stride, driver Vridha Ram delighted to ferry the life-saving Covid vaccines from Jaipur by covering 1,100 kms in record 24 hours.  The work did not deter him in doing so even though he is 50 years old.

Being an herculian task to achieve, he has chosen to carry vaccines by travelling from Barmer to Jaipur and back.  Reaching Barmar is a tough task consideration the location and the topography.  He expressed his proudness in carrying vaccine, a remedy for disease, thus giving life for people of the country.

Ram accompanied by another driver Bhika Ram informed that they would not have time even for a little rest during the travel as vaccine to be transported with utmost priority.  By starting at 8 am on 13th January they reached the destination by 6 am the next day. Though we have travelled very far enough to pick up the vaccines, we are the first to receive the consignment at the state vaccine storage in Jaipur, being proud comments from Ram.  The officials at the receiving end appreciated the drivers and they managed to start the vaccination drive on time.

Having reached such an advanced stage for vaccine, let us hope the nation will be corona-free within a short period of time.
